How many cards should I mail out?
|
|
There is no magic number however we do recommend you
take a look at your target client. On average, 2%-3%
of people will actually see your mailing campaign. If
however, you have narrowed down your mailing list to
a specific type of clientele that is more acceptable
and interested in your product, then your numbers go
up. However, for worse case scenario, lets assume the
generic average is what you will achieve. If you send
out to 1000 clients you are possibly reaching 10-30
people; and of those 10-30 people how many of them are
actually looking for your product or service. If you
jump to 5000 mailings your numbers are now 100-150 people
viewing your product.
If you do need a recommendation for your mailing list
and size, we would recommend a minimum of 1500-2500.
It really varies on how targeted your list is, however,
we have found 1500-2500 is a good starting point to
get your feet wet.

|
How frequently should I mail to potential
clients? |
|
Being consistent in marketing is a key factor. Do not
ever go into something thinking you will have a great
response after your first mailing. Whenever we refer
to a mailing by you or one of our clients we like to
refer to it as a Mailing Campaign. The definition of
a Campaign is: An operation or series of operations
energetically pursued to accomplish a purpose. What
this mean is you need to go into your Direct marketing
venture with a goal in mind and be consistent. We recommend
a minimum of 3 times...meaning...you mail to the same
mailing list at least 3 times before you start to expect
any kind of a response.
How many times have you received something in the mail,
only to put it aside because you knew down the road
you might use it but not right this moment. Then a few
weeks past and you forget all about it...but the very
next day you get the same mailing again and it reminds
you of a service being provided or a new product that
you have been wanting. Getting your information in front
of your potential client is key, and being consistent
is a huge factor. The more times you put it in front
of them, the more likelihood they will respond.

Are postcards the best form of advertising
around? |
|
Trying not to be biased...but YES! Postcards have proven
year in and year out that they are the most effective
marketing tool available today. Pound for pound and
dollar for dollar they have a much higher Return On
Investment then any other form of marketing.
Why? Because it is cheaper compared to advertising
in magazines and television, and you are targeting a
specific demographic. You have control over who you
market to and how many you want to send out. You can
spread your budget out and mail once a week, every other
week, or once a month.
Targeted, colorful, informative, and inexpensive makes
Direct Marketing a key investment in your business.
